Dublin rock quartet The Riptide Movement released their second album ‘Keep On Keepin’ On’ on April 20th to rave reviews. It went in to the Irish charts at #6 and 7 weeks on it remains in the top 10 Independent Album Charts.
The album is a follow up to their successful platinum selling debut ‘What About The Tip Jars’. From the banging rock track ‘Hot Tramp’, to the gentle, powerful first single ‘Thieves In The Gallery’, the new album is an accomplished collection of prog-folk, power pop and dirty fat rock tunes which scream to get out of your speakers. With Mal Tuohy on lead vocals (reminiscent of a young Lemmy), Ger McGarry on bass and harmonica, J.P.R. Dalton on lead guitar and Gar Byrne on drums, this well oiled machine is rounded off by top-notch vocal arrangements from all four band members throughout the record.
Following on from the success of the single ‘Thieves In The Gallery’, which received great support on Irish radio, the band now release their second single, the title track, on July 29th.
They are currently on tour around Ireland and recently sold out The Academy venue in Dublin – their biggest show to date. However, the band are now thrilled to announce that they will be playing The Olympia Theatre on Saturday, November 10th.
The Riptide Movement are renowned for their phenomenal live shows, filling out venues and rocking out festivals all over Europe, they have been dubbed as the best live band to come out of Ireland in recent memory. The Olympia Theatre show is one you don’t want to miss!
