“The greatest rock’n'roll band in Dublin” – Artrocker

The Minutes have just put in a year of gigging that would fit handsomely into any good rock  archive.  With over 100 shows under their belts for 2011, they have blown heads off audiences at festivals across Ireland and the UK including Reading and Leeds Festivals, Sea Sessions, Castlepalooza, Indiependence, Oxegen and Electric Picnic. They’ve added sell out shows in both the The Workmans Club and Whelans, secret fan gigs and a rooftop performance to their list.  The rock’n'rollers were personally asked to support the one and only Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds  for  his first ever solo live show, which took place at The Olympia. They supported Flogging Molly on their 23-date European tour – and then went on to complete their first headline tour of Germany. They also won Best Group Video for ‘Black Keys’ and Best Live Video for ‘IMTOD’ at the recent IMTV Awards.

Having taken a well-deserved but very short break over Christmas, The Minutes will unleash their third single ‘Heartbreaker’ on the public, which will be released in Ireland on Friday February 10th. ‘Heartbreaker’, is taken from their critically acclaimed debut album, Marcata. The single is 127 seconds of righteous fury that has already established itself as a firm favourite in their live set, which you can catch at their biggest headline show to date in The Academy on Saturday February 11th.

Their album has received rave reviews and is due for release in the UK on Jan 30th with the band preparing for their first UK headline tour in February…but first stop, Eurosonic!

Tickets for The Academy on Saturday February 11th priced at €12.50 are on sale now from usual outlets – with support from Leaders Of Men.
